Important when purchasing and working with a loop system:
- Ask
for a certificate, or a measuring protocol,
showing that the system can produce the necessarily
peaks, 0 dB (400 mA/m) or the hearing aid
users will be disappointed.
- WARNING!
The lack of current/power is the most
common problem with LOOP systems. Insert a Loop
amplifier that TRULY fulfill the standard IEC 60118-4:2006.
- Try to understand the basics
of the system. Why connectors and potentiometers
are vital.
- Make a note of the potentiometers
settings.
- Listen to the system frequently.
- Do NOT use a hearing aid for control of the loop system. It
is too subjective and individual in gain and
frequency response to give reliable results.
- Do a basic
check of the system, for example with UniVox Listener or with Univox FSM Field Strength Meter.
For complete measurement according to IEC standard - use the UniVox FSM.
For a fast and simple control check - use the UniVox Listener.
