Copper foil
This thin isolated copper foil
is a dedicated for induction
loop systems.
|
The main advantages are increased high frequency distribution and increased possibilities to install under a floor cover final layers. The copper foil can be used for all types of induction
loop installations
but is especially suitable for existing premises and for installation of SLS systems. The foil can be taped, glued,
mounted with nails, screws or staples. It is however important that qualified personal makes the final decision for the right method for accurate result.
The copper foil is enclosed in a transparent plastic isolation which makes the installation of two or more cables on top of each other possible. The foil is 25 mm wide and 0.1mm thick (0.34 mm
isolation included), which results in a cross-section of 2.5 mm².
The copper foil has lower inductance compared to normal wires
which makes it possible to use it in larger systems that normally require higher cross-section areas.

Electrical Loop Installation Guidelines
- Follow the basic rules for a loop layout installation
- To increase the length of the foil soldering is highly recommended
- Avoid long close parallel wires that could cause interference
- The wire between loop figuration and loop amplifier must be twisted. The cross-section area should be larger than 2.5mm².
- Make certain that the foil is fully isolated with no conductance to any surrounding materials
- For additional advices on installation, see installation guide for amplifier in question
Mechanical recommendations
- In corners, simply fold the foil to desired angle and flatten it out with light hammer strokes
- Parallel foil conductors should be tight together and could be placed on top or sideways to each other depending on the practical installation
Mounting of the foil
- Always ask for advice by qualified personnel for accurate mounting method
- The loop function is not affected when foil is taped, glued, nailed, screwed or stapled but care must always be taken avoiding conductivity to surroundings
