Next generation FSM 2.0 with LCD-display and Microprocessor
Apr 2010

During many years UniVox® FSM (1994) was the only true
FSM with RMS measurement (125ms) complying fully with the
IEC  standard on the market.

UniVox® now launches the next generation Field Strength Meter, FSM 2.0 controlled by a reprogrammable microprocessor (uP)
with an LCD-display. This gives an instrument with advanced functions, yet easy to use, not seen elsewhere.

FSM 2.0 has high-tech measurements like tracking filters; frequency multitone measurements; automatic range shifting; noise levels and spectrum analyzes, all controlled by the uP. It
is the first stand alone Field Strength Meter that fully complies
with the new IEC 60118-4 including noise measurement down to
-47dB(A).

Overspill measurement, far below background noise, is now for the first time possible on a stand alone instrument with the build-in tracking sharp filters.

Fast frequency measurement using advanced automatic multitone system (far superior to pink-noise) with direct dB readings at the LCD display.

All the measurements are in an intuitive step by step program making the full certificate handling easy.

For more details, please study the FSM 2.0 brochure.

UniVox in the American news magazine Advance for Audiologists Magazine
Apr 2010

The American news magazine Advance for Audiologists Magazine has recently published a column that we have written about induction loops.

The magazine targets everyone who works with audiology and hearing technology and is read by audiologists, doctors and industry employees. The article, sponsored by UniVox®, describes the different communication opportunities opening up to people with hearing aids that have correctly adjusted T-coils. The text clearly advocates induction loops and emphasizes the user friendly loop compared to FM and IR systems. Read the article here and be sure to send us any comments.

This article is one of several published recently in the US and the timing is well chosen. At the end of February HLAA (Hearing Loss Association of America) and AAA (American Academy of Audiology) launched a joint campaign called "Get in the Hearing Loop". You can read their press release here.

The campaign clearly advocates induction loops and emphasizes the user friendliness for the hearing aid user. That the largest user and professional organizations join forces with this common statement has led to some attention in the US and we look forward to many discussions during the AAA annual conference with the connected industry exhibition AudiologyNOW! in San Diego April 15-17.

UniVox® will of course be there and as always you are welcome to visit us in booth 1144.

UniVox DLS-50 has landed - UniVox 2A+ retires
Oct 2008

UniVox DLS-50 is the name of the new amplifer that replaces the retired UniVox 2A+.

It is a partly newly developed and powerfull amplifier for use in homes and in Across-the-counter systems. Design and functions are based on UniVox 2A+ but DLS-50 has several new features:

New dedicated super sensitive microphone input with input level control and indication LED, graded volume thumbwheel replacing the old potentiometer and all blue LED's in a new front panel.

UniVox DLS-30TV - the first loop amplifier on the market with digital sound synchronization
Oct 2008

Finally it has arrived - DLS-30TV - specially developed for LCD and plasma screens that often add echo and delay effects to the sound in induction loops.

UniVox DLS-30TV is a redevelopment of our popular loop kit UniVox DLS-30. With the separate TV-sync control the sound from the TV is synchronized with the movements on the screen and the user avoids annoying echo effects.

Further enhancements in the new DLS-30TV include a volume thumbwheel with digits for easy finding of the right level, and two inputs for microphone/stereo/MP3 etc.

The DLS-30TV loop kit comes in two versions: Loop kit with Part No. 203040 includes loop pad and Part No. 203050 includes sofa loop.

New loop amplifier for buses and elevators - UniVox AC/DC-100
Aug 2008

The new UniVox AC/DC-100 is now available for professional installations of induction loops in elevators, buses, boats and other applications run by 12/24V DC.

The powerful amplifier supporting even larger areas (up to 150m2) can be connected to mains power (230V AC) and a battery power source (12-36V DC) simultaneously. In case of mains power failure the operation automatically switches to the DC power source.

The intelligent dual action AGC secures a smooth high quality sound and the powerful amplifier makes usage possible in environments with lots of metal without reduction of the speech perception.

Please contact us for advice on how to install induction loops in elevators, buses, boats and trains.

Read more about AD/DC-100 or go to Product databank, see left , to read all product information.

UniVox DLS-30 Enviro Series
November 2006

The new version of DLS-30 has new features and a new name extension - Enviro Series.

Enviro Series is our way to focus on the fact that the new DLS-30 is the first of our amplifiers to comply with the RoHS directive. Enviro Series is going to be added as an extension - a sticker - on every new amplifier complying with the RoHS directive.

Additionally the new version has a mic/line input on the back side. This makes it possible to use a microphone as signal source, either a 13A microphone attached to the TV's speaker to pick up the correct TV sound or another kind of microphone for speech. The new input also makes it possible to connect a stereo or radio and alternate between watching TV or listening to music.

With the new DLS-30 Enviro Series a new sofa cable is launched. The sofa cable is 8 metres long and is connected to the amplifier with an extension cable (10 metres). This sofa cable is mounted under the sofa or under the carpet surrounding the sofa and allows several hearing aid users to pick up the sound from the loop at the same time. For example, imagine an elderly couple sitting next to each other in the sofa. It is also possible to sit in various positions in the sofa without moving the loop pad every time you move.

The DLS-30 Enviro Series comes in a new, modern looking box with text in several languages. More information is coming soon.

Easier cable handling in portable loop case UniVox p-LooP
October 2006

To make the task of rolling out the cable out of the dispenser in our portable loop case UniVox p-LooP a lot easier, we have changed the cable length in the dispenser from 50 to 35 metres. Additionally a 15 metres cable without dispenser is delivered. In most situations the 35 metres will cover your needs, but in some situations you have to use the amplifiers full capacity. In these situations use the extra 15 metres cable and join it together with the cable in the dispenser with 6,35mm plugs.

Don't forgett you can have your portable loop case equiped with Okayo wireless receivers and body pack or hand transmitters. Off course you can also supplement your loop case with the wireless rechargeable speakers from Okayo with built-in receiver. Then your loop case virtually can work as a complete sound system with loop amplifier, wireless microphones and acoustic amplification for your meeting! Read more.
Bo EDIN AB solves difficulties with the work environment at the National museum of art in Stockholm
June 2006

To get heard by all visitors in a group a guide has to talk quite loud and often gets a sore throat. It’s also hard to hear the information when groups pass by or get close to each other in the exhibition halls.

Guides and visitors gradually increase their sound level to be able to overcome noise from other groups. The guides hurt their vocal cords and many are away ill as a consequence of that.

Bo EDIN AB will now deliver a wireless RF System where the guide carries a transmitter with a microphone and all the visitors carry receivers. With this RF System the guide can speak in a normal level and the visitors can hear perfectly without having to crowd in front of the guide.

With this technique the guides save their vocal cords and another positive benefit is that the environment gets more pleasant for everyone. With a body pack receiver with headset, or a neck loop for a hearing aid user, the visitor can without inconvenience listen to the guide. With this RF System the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm now has solved a major problem with the work environment.

In September 2006 the first part, of three, of this RF System will be installed and in two years the whole system will be completed to satisfy all guides and visitors requirements.
